Ingredients

Scale

For the Apple Wedges:

  • 3 large apples (Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or your favorite), cored and sliced into wedges
  • 1 tbsp melted butter or neutral oil
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)

For the Caramel Whipped Cream:

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream, chilled
  • 2 tbsp caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apple Wedges:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
    • In a large bowl, toss the apple wedges with the melted butter or oil until evenly coated.
    • In a small bowl, mix the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg (if using). Sprinkle the mixture over the apple wedges and toss to coat.
  2. Air Fry the Apples:
    • Arrange the apple wedges in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 8–10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the apples are tender and the coating is lightly caramelized.
  3. Make the Caramel Whipped Cream:
    • In a mixing bowl, beat the chilled heavy cream with a hand mixer or whisk until soft peaks form.
    • Gently fold in the caramel sauce and vanilla extract until combined. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  4. Serve:
    • Transfer the air-fried apple wedges to a serving plate.
    • Serve warm with the caramel whipped cream dipping sauce on the side.

Notes

  • Use a mix of apple varieties for a balance of sweetness and tartness.
  • Add a pinch of salt to the whipped cream for a salted caramel twist.
  • For extra crunch, sprinkle chopped nuts or granola over the apples before serving.
