This Air Fryer Grilled Chicken is juicy, slightly charred, and packed with flavor thanks to a simple marinade. The air fryer gives it a perfect grilled texture without needing an actual grill!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (smoked or regular)
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning (or dried oregano)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder or cayenne (optional for spice)

Instructions

Step 1: Marinate the Chicken

  1. Prepare the Marinade:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and chili powder.
  2. Coat the Chicken:

    • Rub the marinade all over the chicken breasts, coating evenly.
    • Let sit for at least 15-30 minutes (or refrigerate up to 4 hours for more flavor).

Step 2: Air Fry the Chicken

  1. Preheat Air Fryer:

    • Set air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and preheat for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Cook the Chicken:

    • Place chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
    • Cook for 8 minutes, then flip and cook for another 6-8 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  3. Rest & Serve:

    • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
    • Serve with grilled veggies, rice, or a fresh salad!

Notes

  • For extra char, increase temperature to 400°F for the last 2 minutes.
  • No time to marinate? Even 10 minutes will add flavor!

  • Storage: Keep leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
