Almond Bars are buttery, chewy dessert bars made with almond extract and topped with sliced almonds for a simple yet elegant treat perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add salt and almond extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the flour until fully incorporated.
  5. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle sliced almonds evenly over the top.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool completely in the pan, then dust with powdered sugar if desired and cut into bars.

Notes

  • For extra almond flavor, add a few drops of almond extract to the glaze if using.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
  • Can be frozen for up to 2 months—wrap tightly before freezing.
