Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, these Angel Food Cake Churro Bites are coated in cinnamon sugar and served with a warm chocolate or caramel dipping sauce—perfect for parties or sweet snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 prepared angel food cake (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Optional: chocolate or caramel sauce, for dipping

Instructions

  1. Cut angel food cake into 1- to 2-inch bite-sized cubes.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add a portion of the butter and swirl to coat the pan.
  4. Working in batches, add cake cubes to the skillet and toast each side until golden brown and crispy, about 1–2 minutes per side.
  5. Remove toasted bites and immediately toss in the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat.
  6. Repeat with remaining cake cubes, adding more butter to the pan as needed.
  7. Serve warm with chocolate or caramel dipping sauce if desired.

Notes

  • Use day-old angel food cake for easier cutting and crispier results.
  • You can also bake the bites at 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes instead of pan-frying.
  • Best served fresh; reheating can be done in a toaster oven for a few minutes.
