- 12 oz (340 g) kielbasa sausage, sliced into 1-inch rounds
- 2 medium apples (such as Honeycrisp or Gala), diced
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 Tbsp honey
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Chopped parsley or thyme for garnish (optional)
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat.
- Add diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Sauté for 4–5 minutes until tender and lightly caramelized. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Stir in Dijon mustard and honey. Remove apple mixture and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add kielbasa slices and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until browned.
- Return the apple mixture to the skillet. Stir to combine and cook for 1–2 more minutes until heated through.
- Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with chopped herbs if using.
- Serve warm with toothpicks for easy party bites.
Notes
- Use tart apples like Granny Smith for a sharper contrast in flavor.
- Try maple syrup instead of honey for a deeper sweetness.
- Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
- These can be made ahead and reheated gently before serving.
- Pairs well with a sharp cheese or crusty bread on an appetizer platter.
