2 (21 oz) cans apple pie filling
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
1 box yellow cake mix
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (for serving, optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Spread both cans of apple pie filling evenly in the bottom of the dish. Sprinkle cinnamon over the apples if desired.
Evenly sprinkle the dry cake mix over the apple filling—do not stir.
Drizzle melted butter evenly over the entire top of the cake mix.
Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if using.
Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
