This Baked Cranberry Brie Bread Bowl is a warm, gooey, and irresistible appetizer featuring melted brie cheese, tart cranberry sauce, and a golden, crusty bread bowl. It’s easy to make, perfect for holiday gatherings, parties, or cozy nights in!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 round loaf of bread (sourdough or French boule)
  • 1 wheel of brie cheese (812 oz)
  • ½ cup cranberry sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional, for crunch)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary or thyme, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter (for brushing)
  • Crackers, apple slices, or toasted bread (for dipping)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Bread Bowl

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut the top off the bread loaf and hollow out a space to fit the brie wheel. Save the removed bread for dipping.
  3. Brush the inside of the hollowed-out bread with olive oil or melted butter for extra crispiness.

Step 2: Assemble the Brie

  1. Place the brie wheel inside the bread bowl.
  2. Spread cranberry sauce over the brie.
  3. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with chopped nuts and fresh herbs.

Step 3: Bake

  1. Wrap the entire bread bowl loosely in foil (to prevent over-browning).
  2. Bake for 15 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 5-10 minutes until the brie is soft and gooey.

Step 4: Serve & Enjoy

  1. Garnish with extra herbs and nuts.
  2. Serve warm with crackers, apple slices, or toasted bread pieces for dipping.

Notes

  • No bread bowl? Bake brie in a small dish and serve with crusty bread on the side.
  • Make it savory: Add caramelized onions or a drizzle of balsamic glaze.
  • No cranberry sauce? Use fig jam, apricot preserves, or honey instead.
