Flaky puff pastry filled with savory ham and melted cheese, rolled into pinwheels and baked until golden brown.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry (about 8.5 oz), thawed
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 6 oz sliced deli ham, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet. Using a rolling pin, gently roll it out to smooth any creases.
  3. Make Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and Dijon mustard until smooth. Spread the mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Add Ham and Cheese: Evenly distribute the chopped ham over the cream cheese layer, followed by the shredded cheddar cheese. Sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper.
  5. Roll and Slice: Starting from one of the longer sides, tightly roll the puff pastry into a log. Using a sharp knife, slice the log into approximately 12 equal pieces.
  6. Bake: Place the pinwheels cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
