This baked Italian sausage is juicy, flavorful, and perfectly roasted in the oven. Serve it with peppers and onions, in a sandwich, or over pasta for an easy and delicious meal!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage links (mild, sweet, or spicy)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven:

    • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  • Prepare the Vegetables:

    • In a bowl, toss peppers, onions, garlic, olive oil, salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
    • Spread evenly on the baking sheet.
  • Add the Sausage:

    • Place Italian sausages on top of the vegetables.
  • Bake:

    • Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping the sausages halfway, until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
    • For a crispy finish, broil for 2-3 minutes at the end.

 

  • Serve & Enjoy:

    • Serve with crusty bread, pasta, or on a hoagie roll with marinara sauce!

Notes

  • Want extra flavor? Add cherry tomatoes or sliced mushrooms.
  • For a lower-carb option, serve with zucchini noodles or cauliflower rice.
