A simple and nutritious side dish made by baking sweet potatoes until tender, bringing out their natural sweetness.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Scrub sweet potatoes clean and pat dry with a towel.
  3. Prick each sweet potato several times with a fork.
  4. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil.
  5. Optional: rub with olive oil and sprinkle lightly with salt for crispier skin.
  6. Bake for 45–60 minutes, depending on size, until easily pierced with a fork.
  7. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve whole or split open with desired toppings.
