Ingredients
Scale
For the Donuts:
1 ¾ cups (220g) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
⅔ cup (130g) granulated sugar
½ cup (120ml) buttermilk (or whole milk)
2 large eggs
¼ cup (60g) unsalted butter, melted
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
For the Vanilla Glaze:
1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk (adjust as needed)
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat & Prepare
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Lightly grease a donut pan with nonstick spray or butter.
2. Make the Batter
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined (do not overmix).
3. Bake the Donuts
Spoon or pipe the batter into the donut pan, filling each mold about ¾ full.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the donuts are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Let donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
4. Make the Vanilla Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Dip each cooled donut into the glaze, allowing excess to drip off.
Add sprinkles if desired and let the glaze set for 10 minutes.
5. Serve & Enjoy!
Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Notes
No Donut Pan? Use a muffin pan and bake for a few extra minutes for “donut muffins.”
Storage: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
Variations: Add ½ teaspoon of cinnamon for a warm spice flavor or dip in melted chocolate instead of glaze.
