Ingredients
Scale
1 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tbsp brown sugar (optional, for added sweetness)
Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar and brown sugar (if using).
Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat to low and simmer.
Simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture has reduced by half and coats the back of a spoon.
Remove from heat and let cool. The glaze will thicken further as it cools.
Transfer to a jar or bottle and store in the refrigerator for up to a month.
Notes
Skip the sugar for a tangier glaze.
Use high-quality balsamic vinegar for best results.
Drizzle over caprese salad, grilled vegetables, meats, or even strawberries and ice cream.
