This easy balsamic glaze is a thick, sweet, and tangy reduction of balsamic vinegar, perfect for drizzling over salads, vegetables, meats, or even desserts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (optional, for added sweetness)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar and brown sugar (if using).
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat to low and simmer.
  3. Simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture has reduced by half and coats the back of a spoon.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool. The glaze will thicken further as it cools.
  5. Transfer to a jar or bottle and store in the refrigerator for up to a month.

Notes

  • Skip the sugar for a tangier glaze.
  • Use high-quality balsamic vinegar for best results.
  • Drizzle over caprese salad, grilled vegetables, meats, or even strawberries and ice cream.
