Ingredients
Scale
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1/3 cup melted butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup chocolate chips (plus extra for topping, optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix mashed bananas and melted butter until combined.
Stir in granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
Add baking soda and salt, then mix in flour until just combined—do not overmix.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top if desired.
Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for best flavor and moisture.
Can be made with whole wheat flour for a healthier twist.
Store at room temperature for 2–3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
