Ingredients
Scale
2 ripe bananas, sliced
½ cup dark chocolate chips (or milk chocolate)
1 tbsp coconut oil (or butter)
¼ tsp cinnamon (optional)
¼ cup chopped nuts (walnuts, almonds, or hazelnuts)
1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
¼ tsp sea salt (for garnish)
Optional Toppings:
Whipped cream
Ice cream (vanilla or chocolate)
Shredded coconut
Crushed cookies
Instructions
Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until smooth and melted. Alternatively, use a double boiler.
Prepare the bananas: Slice the bananas into rounds or cut them lengthwise for a more elegant presentation.
Assemble the dessert: Arrange the banana slices on a plate or baking sheet. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the bananas.
Add toppings: Sprinkle with cinnamon, chopped nuts, and sea salt. Drizzle with honey or maple syrup if desired.
Chill or serve immediately: Enjoy right away or place in the fridge for 10-15 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
Serve & enjoy: Pair with ice cream, whipped cream, or your favorite toppings!
Notes
Use white or milk chocolate for a different twist.
Make frozen banana chocolate bites: Dip banana slices in melted chocolate, place on parchment paper, and freeze for 1 hour.
For a healthier version, use 70% dark chocolate and skip the added sweeteners.
