BBQ Chicken Pizza is a bold and flavorful twist on traditional pizza, featuring tangy barbecue sauce, tender chicken, red onions, and melty cheese, all baked to crispy perfection.

  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce (plus more for drizzling)
  • 1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
  • Cornmeal or flour, for dusting
  • Olive oil, for brushing crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
  2. Roll out pizza dough on a floured or cornmeal-dusted surface to desired thickness.
  3. Transfer dough to a baking sheet or preheated pizza stone.
  4. Spread barbecue sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  5. Top with shredded chicken, mozzarella, cheddar, and sliced red onions.
  6. Brush the outer crust with olive oil for a golden finish.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with chopped cilantro and a drizzle of extra barbecue sauce if desired. Slice and serve.

Notes

  • Use store-bought or homemade pizza dough based on preference.
  • Rotisserie chicken works well for convenience.
  • Add sliced jalapeños for a spicy kick.
