BBQ Chicken Wings are juicy, oven-baked or grilled wings coated in a smoky, tangy barbecue sauce. Perfect for parties, game day, or a flavorful appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken wings, split and tips removed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Optional: chopped parsley or green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with foil. Place a wire rack on top.
  2. In a large bowl, toss chicken wings with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Arrange wings in a single layer on the wire rack.
  4. Bake for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until wings are golden and crispy.
  5. Remove wings from oven and transfer to a clean bowl. Toss with BBQ sauce until well coated.
  6. Return wings to the rack and bake for an additional 5–10 minutes to set the sauce.
  7. Garnish with parsley or green onions if desired and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, pat them dry with paper towels before seasoning.
  • Grill the wings instead of baking for a smoky flavor.
  • Use your favorite BBQ sauce—sweet, spicy, or smoky—all work well.
