Beef Steak Fried Rice is a hearty, flavorful dish made with tender, seared steak pieces tossed with stir-fried rice, vegetables, and savory seasonings. It’s a quick and satisfying meal perfect for using leftover rice and steak.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine or long-grain rice (preferably day-old)
  • 1/2 lb beef steak (sirloin or ribeye), thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil, divided
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas and carrots, thawed
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Season the sliced steak with salt, pepper, and 1 tbsp soy sauce. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add steak and sear until browned and just cooked through, 2-3 minutes. Remove from pan and set aside.
  3. Add remaining oil to the pan. Sauté garlic and onion for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add peas and carrots and cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Push the vegetables to the side and pour in beaten eggs. Scramble until just set.
  6. Add rice and stir-fry everything together. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Toss well to coat evenly.
  7. Return steak to the pan and stir to combine. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until heated through.
  8. Top with green onions and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use cold, day-old rice to prevent clumping.
  • Swap beef for chicken, shrimp, or tofu if desired.
  • Add chili paste or sriracha for a spicy kick.
