Ingredients

Scale

For the cookies:

  • 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 115 g (4 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups (220 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt

For the cinnamon sugar coating:

  • 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

1. Prepare the cookie dough

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and cream cheese together until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add the sugar and beat until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
  3. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.

2. Combine the dry ingredients

  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.

3. Chill the dough

  1. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up.

4. Preheat the oven

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.

5. Form the cookies

  1. In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon sugar coating ingredients.
  2. Roll the chilled dough into 1-inch balls. Coat each ball in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  3. Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.

6. Bake

  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops look slightly cracked.
  2. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

7. Serve

  • Enjoy these cookies warm or at room temperature with a cup of coffee, tea, or hot cocoa!
