A refreshingly tangy and sweet drink made with fresh blackberries and zesty lime—perfect for hot days or festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 46 limes)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves and extra blackberries, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, pulse blackberries until smooth.
  2. Strain blackberry purée through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing with a spoon to extract juice and discard seeds.
  3. Add lime juice and sugar to the pitcher; stir until sugar dissolves.
  4. Pour in cold water and stir to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as needed.
  5. Fill serving glasses with ice cubes, pour over limeade, and garnish with fresh mint leaves and extra blackberries if desired.
  6. Serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator for up to 2 hours for flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a sparkling version, substitute part or all of the water with club soda right before serving.
  • Adjust sugar to taste or use honey/agave as healthier alternatives.
  • Try adding a splash of limeade to vodka, gin, or tequila for a tasty cocktail.
  • Leftover limeade can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours; stir before serving.
