Boston Cream Pie Fudge is a decadent no-bake treat that captures the flavors of the classic dessert in a bite-sized form. With creamy vanilla fudge, a rich chocolate topping, and a hint of custard flavor, this easy fudge is perfect for sharing or gifting.

Ingredients

Scale

For the vanilla fudge layer:

  • 1 can (397 g / 14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups (340 g) white chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package (92 g / 3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix

For the chocolate topping:

  • 1 cup (170 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pan:
    • Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  2. Make the vanilla fudge layer:
    • In a medium saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk and white chocolate chips. Heat over low-medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is smooth and melted.
    • Remove from heat and quickly stir in the vanilla extract and vanilla pudding mix. Mix well until the pudding mix is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
    • Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it into an even layer. Set aside to cool while preparing the chocolate topping.
  3. Make the chocolate topping:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and heavy cream. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth. Alternatively, melt over a double boiler.
    • Pour the chocolate topping over the cooled vanilla fudge layer and spread evenly.
  4. Chill the fudge:
    • Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2–3 hours, or until fully set.
  5. Cut and serve:
    • Remove the fudge from the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into small squares or rectangles and serve.

Notes

  • Store the fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  • For an authentic Boston Cream Pie look, add a thin layer of custard or pastry cream between the vanilla fudge and chocolate topping (optional).
  • If you prefer a sweeter chocolate topping, use milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
