Ingredients

Scale

For the Filling:

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken (rotisserie chicken works well)
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup ranch or blue cheese dressing
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped (optional)

For the Crescent Ring:

  • 2 (8 oz) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

For Serving:

  • Ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping
  • Additional green onions for garnish

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

2. Make the Buffalo Chicken Filling:

  • In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, cream cheese, shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, ranch or blue cheese dressing, and green onions.
  • Mix until everything is well combined and creamy.

3. Prepare the Crescent Ring:

  • Unroll the crescent rolls and separate them into triangles.
  • Arrange the triangles in a ring, with the short sides overlapping in the center and the points facing outward, resembling a sun.
  • The inner circle should be about 5 inches in diameter.

4. Fill and Fold:

  • Spoon the buffalo chicken mixture evenly around the base of the crescent dough ring.
  • Fold the pointed ends of the dough over the filling and tuck them under the center of the ring.
  • Some filling may still show through, which is perfectly fine.

5. Bake:

  • In a small bowl, mix melted butter with garlic powder.
  • Brush the dough with the butter mixture.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.

6. Serve:

  • Let the crescent ring cool for 5 minutes, then sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired.
  • Slice and serve with extra ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.

Notes

  • You can use blue cheese crumbles in the filling for extra tang.
  • For a mild version, reduce the buffalo sauce or mix with a little extra ranch dressing.
  • This recipe is versatile—try adding diced celery or carrots for added crunch.
