Butter Toffee Pretzels are sweet, salty, and crunchy treats made by coating mini pretzels in a rich butter toffee glaze and baking them to golden perfection—perfect for snacking, gifting, or holiday parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 cups mini pretzels
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Place pretzels in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter, then add brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Stir constantly until mixture comes to a boil.
  4. Let boil for 3 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and baking soda (the mixture will foam up).
  5. Quickly pour the toffee mixture over the pretzels and toss to coat evenly.
  6. Spread the coated pretzels onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes for even coating and crispiness.
  8. Cool completely, then break into pieces and store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Optional: sprinkle with sea salt or drizzle with melted chocolate after baking.
  • Use parchment for easy cleanup and non-stick surface.
  • Pretzels can be stored at room temperature for up to 1 week.
