Cajun shrimp tacos are a spicy, flavorful dish featuring juicy shrimp seasoned with bold Cajun spices, served in warm tortillas and topped with fresh slaw or creamy sauce. A quick and easy meal with a kick.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage or slaw mix
  • 1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro and lime wedges for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss shrimp with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, and lime juice. Let marinate for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the shrimp for 2–3 minutes per side, or until pink and opaque. Remove from heat.
  3. In a small bowl, mix sour cream, mayonnaise, and hot sauce to make a creamy taco sauce.
  4. Warm tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
  5. Assemble tacos by adding shrimp to each tortilla, then topping with slaw, sauce, and fresh cilantro.
  6. Serve with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

  • Adjust Cajun seasoning to taste if you prefer less heat.
  • Use a pre-made slaw mix for convenience.
  • These tacos pair well with avocado slices or mango salsa.
  • Double the sauce recipe for dipping or drizzling.
