Ingredients

Scale

For the Cajun Steak:

  • 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

For the Alfredo Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp Cajun seasoning (optional, for extra kick)
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

For the Pasta:

  • 12 oz fettuccine (or pasta of choice)
  • 1 tbsp salt (for pasta water)
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Steak

  1. Pat steak dry and rub with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  2. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes per side (for medium-rare) or longer for desired doneness.
  4. Transfer to a plate and let rest for 5 minutes, then slice into thin strips.

Step 2: Cook the Pasta

  1. Cook fettuccine in salted boiling water according to package instructions. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.

Step 3: Make the Alfredo Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  3. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Stir in Parmesan cheese, Cajun seasoning (if using), salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, until thickened.

Step 4: Assemble the Dish

  1. Add cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat. If needed, add reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.
  2. Plate the pasta and top with sliced Cajun steak.

Step 5: Serve & Enjoy

  1. Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese.
  2. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Make It Spicier: Add ½ tsp cayenne pepper to the Cajun seasoning.
  • Lighter Version: Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
  • Steak Substitutes: Try grilled chicken, shrimp, or tofu instead of steak.
  • Storage: Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of milk or cream.
