Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup M&M’s (Halloween colors or any variety)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup mini pretzels, crushed (optional, for crunch)

Instructions

🍪 Prepare the Dough:

  1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
    • Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  2. Mix the Dough:

    • In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, oats, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
    • Mix until well combined and a thick dough forms.
  3. Add Mix-Ins:

    • Fold in M&M’s, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, and crushed pretzels (if using).
    • Reserve a few M&M’s and chocolate chips to press into the tops of the cookies before baking.

🍫 Shape and Bake the Cookies:

  1. Portion the Dough:

    • Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Add Extra Toppings:

    • Press extra M&M’s and chocolate chips on top of each cookie for a festive look.
  3. Bake:

    • Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set but the centers still look slightly soft.
    • Avoid overbaking to keep the cookies chewy.

⏲️ Cool and Serve:

  1. Cool the Cookies:

    • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  2. Serving Suggestions:

    • These cookies are perfect on their own or with a cold glass of milk!
