Cakesicles are a fun and modern twist on traditional cake pops, shaped like popsicles and made by pressing cake and frosting mixture into a popsicle mold, then dipping in candy coating and decorating with sprinkles or drizzle.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 baked cake (any flavor, about 9×13-inch)
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups candy melts or chocolate chips (various colors optional)
  • Sprinkles, edible glitter, or drizzle for decoration
  • Popsicle sticks

Instructions

  1. Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl until it resembles fine crumbs.
  2. Add frosting gradually and mix until the mixture holds together when pressed.
  3. Press the mixture firmly into popsicle molds, inserting a popsicle stick into each one. Smooth the backs with a spatula.
  4. Freeze for at least 1 hour until firm.
  5. Carefully remove cakesicles from molds.
  6. Melt candy melts or chocolate according to package instructions.
  7. Dip each cakesicle into the melted coating and tap off excess. Place on parchment paper.
  8. Decorate immediately with sprinkles, drizzle, or edible glitter.
  9. Let set at room temperature or refrigerate until firm.

Notes

  • Use different cake and frosting flavors for variety.
  • If cakesicles are too soft, chill longer before dipping.
  • Great for parties, favors, or holiday treats.
