Ingredients
Scale
1 lb fresh white fish (like snapper or sea bass), diced
1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
1 jalapeño pepper, finely chopped
1 medium tomato, diced
1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
1 avocado, diced (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Tortilla chips, for serving
Instructions
Place the diced fish in a glass or ceramic bowl. Pour the lime and lemon juice over the fish, ensuring it’s fully covered. Cover and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to 1 hour, until the fish turns opaque.
Drain about half of the citrus juice from the fish. Add the sliced onion, chopped jalapeño, diced tomato, and cilantro to the fish. Stir gently to combine.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add diced avocado if desired, and stir gently to avoid mashing.
Serve immediately with tortilla chips or on a tostada.
Notes
Always use the freshest fish possible to ensure safety and flavor.
Adjust the marinating time based on the size of the fish pieces.
For extra heat, add more jalapeño or use serrano peppers.
Chill your serving bowls for an extra refreshing experience.
