Ingredients
Scale
2 large flour tortillas
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or Mexican blend cheese
1 tablespoon butter or olive oil (for greasing skillet)
Optional: salsa, sour cream, or guacamole for serving
Instructions
Heat a skillet over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or olive oil.
Place one tortilla in the skillet and sprinkle cheese evenly over the surface, leaving a small border around the edges.
Top with the second tortilla and cook for 2–3 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown and cheese starts to melt.
Carefully flip the quesadilla and cook the other side for another 2–3 minutes until golden and cheese is fully melted.
Remove from skillet, let cool slightly, then slice into wedges and serve with your favorite toppings.
Notes
Use a mix of cheeses like Monterey Jack, mozzarella, or pepper jack for extra flavor.
Add cooked veggies, beans, or proteins for a more filling quesadilla.
For extra crispiness, press down with a spatula while cooking.
