These Cheeseburgers in Foil are an easy, no-mess meal perfect for grilling, baking, or campfire cooking. Juicy beef patties, melted cheese, tender potatoes, and flavorful veggies all cook together in foil packets for a delicious all-in-one meal!

For the Burgers:

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20 for juicier burgers)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese

For the Veggies & Potatoes:

  • 2 cups baby potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced (any color)
  • 1 cup zucchini, sliced (optional)
  • ½ cup red onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

For Serving:

  • Burger buns (optional)
  • Ketchup, mustard, or mayo

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Patties

  • In a bowl, mix ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Divide into 4 equal patties, flattening them slightly (they will shrink while cooking).

2️⃣ Prepare the Veggies & Potatoes

  • In a large bowl, toss sliced potatoes, bell peppers, zucchini, and onions with olive oil, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and Italian seasoning.

3️⃣ Assemble the Foil Packets

  • Tear 4 large sheets of foil (about 12×12 inches).
  • Divide the veggie mixture evenly among the foil sheets.
  • Place a burger patty on top of the veggies.

4️⃣ Seal & Cook

Grill Method:

  • Preheat grill to 375-400°F (190-200°C).
  • Seal foil packets tightly and place on the grill.
  • Cook for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Oven Method:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Place foil packets on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes.

Campfire Method:

  • Place foil packets directly on hot coals.
  • Cook for 20-25 minutes, rotating occasionally.

5️⃣ Melt the Cheese & Serve

  • Open each packet carefully (hot steam will escape).
  • Place a slice of cheese on each burger and reseal for 2 minutes until melted.
  • Serve in a burger bun or enjoy straight from the foil!
