Cheesecake Brownies are a rich and decadent dessert that combines fudgy chocolate brownies with a creamy swirled cheesecake topping — the best of both worlds in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for cheesecake layer)
  • 1 egg (for cheesecake layer)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cheesecake layer)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter. Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup sugar, 2 eggs, and 1 tsp vanilla extract.
  3. Mix in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined. Pour 2/3 of the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 egg, and 1/2 tsp vanilla until smooth.
  5. Spread the cheesecake layer over the brownie batter in the pan.
  6. Dollop the remaining brownie batter on top and swirl gently with a knife or skewer to create a marbled effect.
  7. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Let cool completely in the pan before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For extra richness, add chocolate chips to the brownie batter.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
  • These brownies freeze well and can be enjoyed chilled or at room temperature.
