This Cheesy Beef and Bowtie Pasta is a one-pan, family-favorite meal packed with seasoned ground beef, tender bowtie pasta, and a creamy, cheesy sauce. It’s easy to make, budget-friendly, and totally satisfying – a perfect weeknight comfort food!
12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
1/2 cup beef broth or water
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup heavy cream or milk (for creamier texture)
Fresh parsley or basil, chopped (optional garnish)
Cook the pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook bowtie pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Brown the beef:
In a large skillet or pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and onion. Cook until the beef is browned and onion is soft, about 5–6 minutes. Drain excess grease if needed.
Add garlic and seasoning:
Stir in garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Make the sauce:
Pour in tomato sauce and beef broth. Stir well and let simmer for 3–4 minutes.
Add cheese and cream:
Lower the heat and stir in cheddar, mozzarella, and heavy cream. Mix until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
Combine:
Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until everything is heated through.
Serve:
Garnish with chopped parsley or basil and serve hot!
Swap in ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
Add veggies like spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
Use pre-cooked pasta to make this a quick 20-minute meal.
Great for leftovers and meal prep—just reheat with a splash of milk to loosen the sauce.
