Ingredients

Scale

For the beef filling:

  • 1 pound (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) tomato sauce or salsa

For the wraps:

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup (115 g) shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (optional)

For the fries:

  • 4 medium potatoes (or use frozen fries)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fries:
    • If using fresh potatoes, preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Cut the potatoes into thin strips. Toss them with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
    • Spread the fries on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy. (For frozen fries, bake as per package instructions.)
  2. Cook the beef filling:
    • Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until softened, about 2–3 minutes.
    • Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain any excess fat.
    • Stir in the chili powder, paprika, cumin, salt, pepper, and tomato sauce or salsa. Cook for another 2–3 minutes until the beef is well seasoned and the sauce is slightly thickened. Remove from heat.
  3. Assemble the wraps:
    • Warm the tortillas in the microwave or on a skillet.
    • Sprinkle a layer of shredded cheese in the center of each tortilla. Top with the beef filling, lettuce, diced tomatoes, and a dollop of sour cream if desired.
    • Fold the sides of the tortilla in and roll tightly to form a wrap.
  4. Serve:
    • Slice the wraps in half if desired and serve alongside the hot fries. Add ketchup, ranch dressing, or your favorite dipping sauce for the fries.

Notes

  • Add extra toppings like avocado, pickled jalapeños, or sautéed bell peppers for variety.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef if preferred.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat the wraps in a skillet for best results.
