Cheesy Garlic Bread is a savory, buttery side dish made with crusty bread, garlic butter, and gooey melted cheese. It’s the perfect complement to pasta, soup, or salad, and ready in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf French bread or Italian bread, halved lengthwise
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes for heat

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, and parsley.
  3. Spread garlic butter evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
  5. Place bread halves on the prepared baking sheet, cut side up.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly. Broil for an additional 1–2 minutes for golden, crispy tops.
  7. Cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic for the best flavor, or garlic powder in a pinch.
  • Try adding chopped basil or oregano for extra herb flavor.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in the oven or air fryer for crispiness.
