This Cheesy Joe Garlic Bread is a mouthwatering combination of garlic bread and Sloppy Joes, loaded with a rich, meaty sauce and melted cheese. It’s the perfect fusion of two comfort food favorites, great for a quick dinner, party appetizer, or game-day snack!

For the Sloppy Joe Filling:

  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp chili powder (optional, for spice)

For the Garlic Bread:

  • 1 loaf French bread, cut in half lengthwise
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for extra cheesiness)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

Step 1: Make the Sloppy Joe Filling

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until browned (5-6 minutes).
  2. Drain excess grease, then add onion and garlic, cooking for another 2 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, paprika, and chili powder.
  4. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.

Step 2: Prepare the Garlic Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Brush the cut sides of the French bread with the garlic butter mixture.
  4. Bake for 5 minutes to lightly toast the bread.

Step 3: Assemble & Bake

  1. Spread the Sloppy Joe mixture evenly over each piece of garlic bread.
  2. Sprinkle with mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  3. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 4: Serve & Enjoy

  1. Garnish with fresh parsley, slice, and serve hot!
