Cherries in the Snow is a light and luscious no-bake dessert featuring layers of fluffy whipped cream and cream cheese mixture, soft cake or graham cracker base, and a sweet cherry pie filling. It’s an easy yet elegant treat perfect for holidays or potlucks.

Ingredients

  • 1 angel food cake or pound cake, cut into cubes
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
  2. Fold in the whipped topping until well combined and fluffy.
  3. Layer half of the cake cubes into the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish or trifle bowl.
  4. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the cake layer.
  5. Spoon half of the cherry pie filling on top.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, cream cheese mixture, and cherry pie filling.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
  8. Scoop or slice to serve, optionally garnishing with fresh cherries or white chocolate shavings.

Notes

  • Use pound cake for a richer dessert or angel food cake for a lighter version.
  • This dessert can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
  • Try blueberry or strawberry pie filling for a variation.
