Cherry margaritas are a vibrant and fruity twist on the classic cocktail, featuring fresh or frozen cherries blended with lime juice, tequila, and orange liqueur for a refreshing summer drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
  • 1/2 cup silver tequila
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or triple sec)
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 2 tbsp simple syrup (or to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Salt or sugar for rimming glasses (optional)
  • Lime wedges and cherries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. If rimming glasses, rub a lime wedge around the edge and dip in salt or sugar. Set aside.
  2. In a blender, combine cherries, tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, simple syrup, and a handful of ice.
  3. Blend until smooth. Add more ice if desired for a slushier texture.
  4. Pour into prepared glasses.
  5. Garnish with lime wedges and cherries if desired.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less simple syrup to taste.
  • Frozen cherries make the drink extra cold and slushy without diluting the flavor.
  • Can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for a few hours before serving—stir or blend again before pouring.
