Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup (60ml) pure maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cups (220g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup (120g) white chocolate chunks or chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
    • Add the maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract, and beat until well combined.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
    • Fold in the white chocolate chunks.
  3. Shape the Cookies:
    • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
  4. Bake the Cookies:
    • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers still look soft. Avoid overbaking to maintain a chewy texture.
    • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. Serve:
    • Enjoy the cookies warm or store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.

Notes

  • For extra maple flavor, drizzle the cookies with a maple glaze made from powdered sugar, a splash of maple syrup, and a touch of milk.
  • Chopped macadamia nuts or pecans can be added for added crunch and flavor.
