Ingredients
Scale
½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
½ cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
¼ cup (60ml) pure maple syrup
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ¾ cups (220g) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
¾ cup (120g) white chocolate chunks or chips
Instructions
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Prepare the Dough:
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
Add the maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract, and beat until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
Fold in the white chocolate chunks.
Shape the Cookies:
Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
Bake the Cookies:
Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers still look soft. Avoid overbaking to maintain a chewy texture.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serve:
Enjoy the cookies warm or store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
Notes
For extra maple flavor, drizzle the cookies with a maple glaze made from powdered sugar, a splash of maple syrup, and a touch of milk.
Chopped macadamia nuts or pecans can be added for added crunch and flavor.
