This Chicken Casserole with Ritz Crackers is a creamy, cheesy, crowd-pleasing dinner that’s perfect for busy weeknights or family get-togethers. Tender chicken is mixed with a rich sauce, topped with a buttery Ritz cracker crumble, and baked until golden and bubbly.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups cooked shredded chicken (rotisserie works great)

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 sleeve Ritz crackers (about 30 crackers), crushed

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. Make the filling: In a large bowl, mix the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.

  3. Assemble the casserole: Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.

  4. Add the topping: In a small bowl, combine crushed Ritz crackers with melted butter. Sprinkle evenly over the chicken mixture.

  5. Bake: Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes or until hot and bubbly and the topping is golden brown.

  6. Serve: Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if you like.

Notes

  • You can add steamed broccoli or frozen mixed veggies to the filling for extra flavor and nutrition.

  • Swap cream of chicken soup with cream of mushroom or cream of celery if preferred.

  • Great for meal prep or freezing—just prep, freeze before baking, then bake straight from frozen (add 15–20 mins extra cook time).
