This Chocolate Banana Bread is moist, rich, and packed with deep chocolate flavor. Made with ripe bananas and cocoa, it’s the perfect treat for breakfast, snacks, or dessert!

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (50 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed (~1 ¼ cups)
  • ½ cup (100 g) brown sugar
  • ¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (120 ml) vegetable oil (or melted butter/coconut oil)
  • 2 large eggs (or flax eggs for vegan)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Add-Ins (Optional):

  • ¾ cup (130 g) chocolate chips (dark, milk, or semi-sweet)
  • ½ cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)


Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat & Prep

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.

2️⃣ Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

3️⃣ Combine Wet Ingredients

  • In another bowl, mash the bananas and mix in brown sugar, granulated sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.

4️⃣ Make the Batter

  • Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  • Stir in chocolate chips and nuts (if using).

5️⃣ Bake Until Done

  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

6️⃣ Cool & Serve

  • Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  • Slice and enjoy warm or at room temperature!


Notes
