Ingredients
Scale
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are golden but centers are still soft.
Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
Use room temperature butter for the best texture.
For extra chewy cookies, slightly underbake them.
Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze dough balls for later baking.
