Chocolate Egg Nests are adorable no-bake treats made with melted chocolate and crunchy chow mein noodles, shaped into nests and filled with candy eggs — perfect for Easter or springtime fun with kids.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups chow mein noodles
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup butterscotch chips (optional for flavor variation)
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter (optional)
  • Candy-coated chocolate eggs (like Cadbury Mini Eggs or jelly beans)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips (and butterscotch chips and/or peanut butter if using) in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
  3. Gently fold chow mein noodles into the melted chocolate until fully coated.
  4. Scoop heaping tablespoons of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and shape into small nests using the back of the spoon or fingers.
  5. Place 2–3 candy eggs in the center of each nest while still soft.
  6. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until firm.
  7. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Use cupcake liners for easy shaping and serving.
  • Swap chow mein noodles for pretzel sticks or cornflakes for texture variation.
  • These can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
