These Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Candies are a perfect combination of salty, sweet, and crunchy! They’re quick to make and ideal for parties, holiday gifting, or just a delicious snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 50 mini pretzel twists (approximately)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil or shortening (optional, for smoother chocolate)
  • Flaky sea salt (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make the Peanut Butter Filling:
    • In a medium bowl, mix together the peanut butter, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and combined. The mixture should be thick and moldable.
  2. Assemble the Pretzel Candies:
    • Scoop about 1 teaspoon of the peanut butter mixture and roll it into a small ball. Place the ball on top of a pretzel and gently press another pretzel on top to form a sandwich. Repeat with the remaining pretzels and peanut butter filling.
    • Place the pretzel sandwiches on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for 20-30 minutes to firm up.
  3. Melt the Chocolate:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using) in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until smooth and glossy.
  4. Dip the Pretzels:
    • Remove the pretzel sandwiches from the freezer. Using a fork, dip each pretzel sandwich into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated. Let the excess chocolate drip off before placing it back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Garnish and Set:
    • Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top of the chocolate-coated pretzels if desired. Allow the candies to set at room temperature or refrigerate for 15-20 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
  6. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Store the candies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • For a festive twist, drizzle the candies with white chocolate or sprinkle with colored sprinkles.
  • Use dark or milk chocolate based on your preference.
  • You can substitute almond butter or sunflower seed butter for peanut butter for dietary needs.
