Rich and decadent chocolate tarts with a crisp buttery crust and silky smooth chocolate ganache filling, perfect for dessert lovers.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 12 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour and powdered sugar. Cut in the cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add egg yolk and 1 tablespoon of cold water. Mix until dough forms, adding more water if needed.
  4. Press dough into tart pans and chill for 15 minutes.
  5. Bake crusts for 15-20 minutes until golden. Cool completely.
  6. Heat heavy cream in a saucepan until just simmering.
  7. Pour hot cream over chopped chocolate in a bowl. Let sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth.
  8. Add butter, vanilla, and a pinch of salt. Stir until incorporated.
  9. Pour ganache into cooled tart shells and refrigerate until set, about 2 hours.
  10. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • You can top the tarts with berries, whipped cream, or nuts for added flavor and presentation.
  • Use good-quality chocolate for the best taste.
  • Tarts can be made a day in advance and kept refrigerated.
