These adorable Christmas Oreo Ornaments are festive, fun, and delicious! Coated in chocolate and decorated like holiday ornaments, they’re perfect for gifting, party favors, or a fun activity with kids.

  • 12 Oreo cookies
  • 1 ½ cups (300 g) white chocolate or candy melts
  • ½ cup (100 g) colored candy melts (red, green, blue, etc.)
  • Sprinkles, edible glitter, or small candies (for decoration)
  • Mini pretzel twists or candy canes (for ornament hooks)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pretzel hooks:
    • Break the mini pretzel twists into small “hook” shapes, or cut candy canes into small curved pieces to resemble ornament hooks. Set aside.
  2. Melt the chocolate:
    • Place the white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Coat the Oreos:
    • Dip each Oreo into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Use a fork to lift the Oreo out and let excess chocolate drip off. Place the coated Oreos on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Attach the hooks:
    • While the chocolate is still wet, attach a pretzel hook or candy cane piece to the top of each Oreo.
  5. Decorate:
    • Use colored candy melts to drizzle patterns over the coated Oreos or create festive designs like swirls, zigzags, or dots. Add sprinkles, edible glitter, or small candies for decoration before the chocolate hardens.
  6. Let set:
    • Allow the Oreos to cool and set completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes.
  7. Serve or package:
    • Once hardened, place the Christmas Oreo Ornaments in a festive box or arrange them on a serving tray.

  • You can use dark or milk chocolate for coating instead of white chocolate.
