Crispy, cheesy, and packed with protein, these Cottage Cheese Chips are a guilt-free snack you can make at home. With just a few ingredients, you’ll have a healthy and satisfying treat that’s perfect for dipping or enjoying on its own.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (225g) cottage cheese
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra flavor)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • ½ tsp onion powder (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • Prepare the Cottage Cheese Mixture:
    • If your cottage cheese is watery, strain it through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove excess liquid.
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the cottage cheese, Parmesan (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until evenly mixed.
  • Portion the Chips:
    • Spoon small dollops (about 1 tablespoon each) of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
    • Use the back of the spoon to gently flatten each dollop into a thin circle, about 2-3 inches wide.
  • Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and crispy.
    • For extra crispiness, flip the chips halfway through baking and continue cooking until fully crisp.
  • Cool:
    • Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the chips to cool for 5 minutes. They will crisp up further as they cool.
  • Serve:
    • Enjoy immediately, or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Pair with your favorite dip, such as hummus, guacamole, or salsa.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or paprika to the mixture.
  • If you prefer ultra-thin chips, spread the mixture even thinner on the baking sheet, but reduce the cooking time slightly.
  • These chips can also be made in an air fryer for a faster cooking method.
