Cranberry Brie Bites are a perfect blend of creamy, tangy, and buttery flavors, ideal for holiday gatherings or as a quick and elegant appetizer. These bite-sized treats combine flaky puff pastry, gooey brie, and tart cranberry sauce for a delightful party snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed if frozen
  • 120 g (4 oz) brie cheese, cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the puff pastry

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and lightly grease a mini muffin tin or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to smooth out creases.
  3. Cut the pastry into 12 squares (about 5×5 cm or 2×2 inches).
  4. Press each square gently into the cups of the mini muffin tin.

2. Assemble the bites

  1. Place a cube of brie in the center of each puff pastry square.
  2. Top with 1 teaspoon of cranberry sauce.
  3. Sprinkle with chopped pecans or walnuts for added crunch, if desired.

3. Bake

  1. Brush the edges of the puff pastry with the beaten egg to enhance browning.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and puffed.

4. Garnish and serve

  1. Remove the bites from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  2. Garnish with a small sprig of fresh rosemary or thyme for a festive touch.
  3. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Cranberry sauce alternative: Substitute with fig jam, apricot preserves, or red pepper jelly for a twist.
  • Make-ahead: Assemble the bites up to 4 hours in advance and refrigerate until ready to bake.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat in the oven for a crisp texture.
