  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the bruschetta topping:

  • 1 1/2 cups (300 g) diced tomatoes (Roma or cherry tomatoes work best)
  • 1/4 cup (10 g) fresh basil, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For garnish and serving:

  • 1/4 cup (25 g) shredded Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Toasted baguette slices, crackers, or fresh veggies

Instructions

  • Prepare the creamy base:
    • In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, and salt until smooth and well combined. Spread the mixture evenly onto a serving platter or into a shallow dish.
  • Make the bruschetta topping:
    • In another bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, basil, minced garlic, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let the mixture sit for 10โ€“15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Assemble the dip:
    • Spoon the bruschetta topping evenly over the creamy base. Sprinkle with shredded Parmesan cheese, if desired.
  • Serve:
    • Serve immediately with toasted baguette slices, crackers, or fresh veggies for dipping.

Notes

  • For a warm version: Heat the creamy base in the oven at 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) for 10 minutes before adding the bruschetta topping.
  • Make it ahead: Prepare the creamy base and bruschetta topping separately and assemble just before serving to keep it fresh.
  • Additions: Mix in some shredded mozzarella or feta cheese for extra creaminess and flavor.
