A rich and comforting dessert made with rice, milk, and warm cinnamon flavors, perfect for a cozy treat.

  • 2 cups water
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • Optional: ground nutmeg and raisins for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add rice, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  2. Add milk, sugar, and salt to the cooked rice. Stir well and bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  3. Reduce heat to low and cook uncovered, stirring frequently, for about 30 minutes or until the mixture is thick and creamy.
  4. Stir in cinnamon, vanilla extract, and butter. Mix until well combined.
  5. Remove from heat and let sit for a few minutes. Serve warm or chilled, garnished with a sprinkle of nutmeg or raisins if desired.
