Ingredients
Scale
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/2 cup all-purpose flour, for dredging
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then dredge lightly in flour, shaking off excess.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
Add heavy cream, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir until cheese is melted and sauce thickens slightly, about 3–4 minutes.
Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top. Simmer for another 3–4 minutes to reheat and coat the chicken.
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
Notes
Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest, richest sauce.
Pair with pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes to soak up the sauce.
Adjust thickness of sauce with more broth or cream as needed.
