12 oz fettuccine pasta
1 pound Italian sausage, casings removed
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Cook fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add Italian sausage and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through.
Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer.
Stir in Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet and toss to coat in the creamy sauce.
Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
Use spicy Italian sausage for a little extra kick.
Reserve some pasta water to thin the sauce if needed.
